Proposed development
It is proposed to construct a new wastewater pumping station on Seafield Close, Fethard for two existing housing developments of Valley View and Stonebrook in Fethard. This pumping station will then pump wastewater up the Seafield Close via a 75 m rising main and discharge into the existing Uisce Eireann public sewer which in turn will carry the effluent to the Fethard WWTP servicing the village of Fethard. The two existing inadequate developer-provided treatment plants currently servicing these two housing estates will then be decommissioned
What happens next
The application has been lodged and validated. The council has eight weeks to decide, unless it asks for further information. The council's decision is due by 11 Feb 2026.
