A) 1993 Classroom Block Building: The proposed works comprise the upgrading of the external wall fabric through the installation of cavity bead insulation within existing wall cavities where feasible, upgrading of insulated aluminium panels where present, application of external wall insulation systems with rendered finish to all external elevations including over blockwork finishes and Forticrete finishes. The system is mechanically fixed to the existing wall fabric. The existing concrete window sills are to be locally adjusted to allow the insulation to return to window level. A proprietary insulated metal oversill system is to be installed to maintain weathering and visual definition. The proposed works further include the replacement of existing window units with new double glazed thermally broken, aluminium-framed windows. Exterior doors of the building are to be replaced with new double-glazed thermally broken aluminium doors. The proposed replacement windows and doors will match the existing openings in size, proportion and position. The works do not involve any increase in building height alteration to footprint or massing, or the creation of new openings. Across all three buildings, the proposed works constitute repair, maintenance and improvement of existing structures and do not materially affect their external appearance, character or special interest
