Proposed development
The proposed development consists of the maintenance and improvement of an existing agricultural laneway within a private farm holding. The lane has become muddy, soft and increasingly difficult to access due to prolonged heavy rainfall and extreme weather. The works will involve resurfacing the existing track with a durable weather-resistant material to restore safe and reliable access for agricultural vehicles. The laneway will not be widened and will remain at its existing maximum width of approximately 3 metres. The alignment and use of the lane will not change and no new access to a public road will be formed. The lane is privately owned and used exclusively by the farm and no public or third party rights of way exist over it. On rare occasions the Coast Guard has requested access for emergency response purposes and maintaining a safe, stable surface supports this where necessary and always with landowner consent.
