Proposed development
Nature and extent of development Ballyanne Racquetball and Handball Club (est 1905) has 86 junior members and 74 adult members and the present alley size is unfit for training or for holding competitions for any interclub, county, provincial or All Ireland competitions in both game racquetball and handball. The Club wishes to bring the alley to a standard international 40x20 dimension in which all of RAI (Racquetball Association of Ireland) junior competitions are held and 80% of GAA handball competitions are held. The modification will see two new side walls built and one new front wall. The back wall will be a glass wall for spectators and referees. An interior roof will hold the lighting and allow roof shots during the games. When completed the alley will be only used for the same purpose, coaching and playing racquetball and handball. The exterior of the present structure will not be disturbed and remain completely unchanged.
