Proposed development
Upgrading capacity at Wastewater Treatment facilities at Oldtown and Ballyboughal by reassigning use of the Wastewater Treatment Plants to wastewater pumping/storage facilities and forwarding their combined wastewater loads via development of new rising mains for treatment at Swords WWTP. Works include decommissioning of existing WWTPs, construction of below ground pumping stations with integrated stormwater tanks, chemical dosing units, conversion of oxidation ditches to washwater storage tanks, borehole water extraction chambers, ground affixed solar panels (36m2 each), installation of below ground pipework (90mm to 180mm ID) on 8.4kms of roadway and 300m of land, and creation of compensatory flood storage area at Ballyboughal WWTP.
