Proposed development
The Electricity Supply Board (ESB) are seeking Planning Permission for development consisting of: (a) Refurbishment and internal reconfiguration of the existing depot building; works involving material alterations to the front elevation, including removal and infill of selected openings and provision of a revised window arrangement to reflect the internal layout; and, (b) Installation of 3 No. external access ramps with associated handrails/guarding to serve the three entrances; and, (c) installation of a PV solar system, including the installation of PV solar panels on the roof of the existing Depot structure; and, (d) Demolition of the existing single storey link corridor (13.5 sqm) between the subject depot building and an adjoining depot building in separate ownership, with making good to exposed wall surfaces; and, (e) Demolition of two single storey outbuildings (165 sqm & 175 sqm respectively); and, (f) The replacement of the existing sheet roof for the stores building (290 sqm), replaced with proposed insulated roof panel system; and, (g) Material alterations to the external elevations of the existing stores building, including the infill and installation of new windows and roller shutter access. The application includes all ancillary works associated with the development located at the existing depot site.

Permission was granted on 1 Apr 2026. Third parties may appeal within four weeks; after that the permission is final and works can start once a commencement notice is lodged.
