Proposed development

outline planning permission for a proposed development at JD’s Bar and Venue, Main Street, Ballybunion, Co. Kerry. The development will consist of the demolition of existing single and two-storey flat roof structures to the rear (north) of the existing JD’s Bar building, internal alterations and elevational changes to the existing JD’s Bar and Venue, and the construction of a three-storey extension to the rear (north) of JD’s Bar. The proposal includes a change of use from bar/nightclub to a 16-bedroom aparthotel with ancillary spaces, rooms and services. In addition, on adjacent lands to the rear of the existing JD’s Bar, it is proposed to develop a residential scheme comprising a total of 22 no. units, as follows: 8 no. 3-bed dwelling units, 4 no. 2-bed dwelling units, 7 no. 2-bed apartment units, 2 no. 3-bed duplex apartment units and1 no. 1-bed apartment unit. All dwellings are contained within two-storey terrace blocks, while apartments and duplexes are contained within three-storey buildings. The overall development also includes the provision of 18 no. car parking spaces, 1 no. bin store, a bicycle store, pedestrian access routes, development signage, boundary treatments, landscaping, public open spaces and all ancillary site development works at JD’s Bar and Venue, Main Street, Ballybunion, Co. Kerry. The planning application may be inspected or purchased, at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy, at the offices of Kerry County Council during its public opening hours and a submission or observation in relation to the application may be made to the authority in writing on payment of the prescribed fee within the period of 5 weeks beginning on the date of receipt by the authority of the application.
