Proposed development

i) 1 no. synthetic all-weather rugby pitch (112m x 70m), including; a 5m run-off area around the pitch, replacement of 4 no. existing floodlights with an LED floodlighting system of 6 no. columns (each 18m high); synthetic area for warm-up and training purposes (96.8m x 21.7m and 25.2m x 11.1m); a 1.27m high spectator fencing surrounding the proposed pitch; 2 no. ball-stop netting structures (15m high x 40m length) located at both ends of the proposed pitch; a concrete path to the northwest of the proposed pitch; ii) Refurbishment of existing hockey pitch to provide for an all-weather multi-sport surface (89.3m x 54.4m), including; a run-off area around the pitch ranging in width from 1m – 1.5m; a 5.00m high rigid ball-stop fencing with an additional 3.00m high ball-stop netting structure (8.00m overall height x 73.9m length) at both ends of the proposed pitch; a 1.27m high spectator fencing and concrete path to the northwest of the proposed pitch; iii) 2 no. hardstanding areas (c. 360sq.m and c. 115sq.m) and cycle parking area with 30 no. standard bicycle spaces and 2 no. cargo bicycle spaces; and iv) The planting of new trees as well as all associated site development works, landscaping and site services.

What happens next

The application has been lodged and validated. The council has eight weeks to decide, unless it asks for further information. The council's decision is due by 16 Sept 2026.
