The building is located within the South City Retail Quarter Architectural Conservation Area. The development will consist of a change of use from use as a licensed restaurant to use as a gastropub. Permission is also sought to carry out internal alterations to include, removal of non-original stairs from ground floor to basement and reinstatement of floor in lieu, original and truncated basement stairs to be replaced with new stairs in similar but altered location, new emergency escape door from kitchen at basement, alteration of non-original stud work at bottom of central stairs in basement, creation of void at new stairs to basement, removal of non-original South Great George's street lobby, reinstating original door on South Great George's street, third floor removal of demonstration kitchen and cold room and removal of non-original partitions to form open plan office area to serve the premises.
