The proposed works comprise of the construction of 1 and 2 storey extensions and new basement level to the building consisting of: 1) new event centre/community hall; 2) extension to the existing restaurant; 3) new front lobby; 4) new food storage and food production areas, staff facilities, storage and offices. The proposed development works include a revised car park area, the provision of a new internal access road, the relocation of an underground gas tank, bicycle parking, landscaping, drainage and plant areas. The works will be carried out within the curtilage of Newmarket House which is included on the Record of Protected Structures (where it is referred to as ‘James O'Keeffe Memorial Institute (Newmarket House)’, RPS No. 00162).
