If you’re using Tradesmen.ie
Tradesmen.ie is one way to find work. Here’s the other.
Ireland's best-known trade lead site, running since 2008. It sells you a homeowner’s job, shared with other trades who then compete on price. PlanningLeads works the other way round: it shows you the project the job came from, earlier, filtered to your trade, and never resold to a rival.
What Tradesmen.ie does well
Quick, small domestic jobs where a customer already knows they want the work done. Sixteen years of strong Dublin supply, a capped field of four, and ID and insurance checks at signup. If you want the customer to come to you for a bathroom or a bit of painting, it does that job well.
Where the model leaves you exposed
The catch is in the model, not the company. The same lead goes to four of you, so you compete on price the second you make contact. The credits expire whether you win or not, so there's pressure to chase marginal jobs to use them up. And a customer who fielded four quotes was usually always going to take the cheapest. That's just what buying reactive, shared leads is.
The different approach
Own the pipeline, not one shared job
Ireland publishes every planning application and commencement notice. PlanningLeads assembles all of it, from all 31 authorities, and hands you the part that matters to your trade, first.
Earlier in the story
You see a project when it files for planning or a commencement notice, before it's ever advertised as a job.
Yours, not shared
It's the public pipeline, not a lead we resold to three rivals. Nobody else buys the same one from us.
Filtered and sized
Narrowed to your trade and your counties, with the modelled value of the work to you on every site.
Side by side
Tradesmen.ie vs PlanningLeads
| Tradesmen.ie | PlanningLeads | |
|---|---|---|
| When you hear about the work | When a homeowner posts a job | At planning or commencement, first, before it's advertised |
| Who else gets the same thing | Up to four of you, whoever bids most in 15 minutes | Nobody. It's the public pipeline, not a resold lead |
| What you're competing on | Price, the moment you make contact | Being first, on bigger and earlier work |
| What you're paying for | Around €15 to €125+ per shared lead, plus fees | From €29/mo for every project in your county |
| What you actually see | One homeowner's job | Every project in your county, mapped, filtered to your trade and sized by what it's worth |
You don’t have to choose
Plenty of trades keep Tradesmen.ie for the quick reactive jobs and use PlanningLeads for the bigger, earlier work they'd never hear about in time. It isn't either/or. It's filling the half of your book that shared leads can't reach.
