Permission for development which consists of; planning permission is sought by the Atlantic Technological University for development on a site extending to 0.48 hectares located on the Atlantic Technological University Galway Campus, Murrough, Dublin Road, Galway, H91 T8NW. The proposed development will consist of the following: 1. The construction of a STEM building incorporating the schools of science and computing and the school of engineering with a gross floor area of 5,550 sqm comprising lecture theatres, laboratories, informal education spaces, group work areas, seminar rooms, meeting rooms and office space. The proposed building is located to the east of the campus addressing the Ballybane Road (R865). 2. The proposed building is attached to the existing School of Engineering and School of Science building at ground floor level and 2 no. link bridges at first floor level. 3. The provision of photovoltaic panels and plant area at roof level of the proposed building. 4. The construction of a standalone transformer area, gas bottle zone and gas skid to the south of the proposed STEM building. 5. Alterations to the existing service road, diversion of services, enhanced access connections and the provision of a new platform lift to provide disabled access from the existing car park. 6. Provision of hard and soft landscaping including a new landscaped zone to the east of the proposed building, bicycle and cargo parking, 4 no. disabled car parking spaces and 5 no. EV charging spaces, public lighting, signage and all associated site works and ancillary services necessary to facilitate the proposed development.
