Proposed development
The development consisting of the installation of a ground mounted solar photovoltaic plant with an approximate capacity of 400.2 kWp DC and 345 kVA AC, located within the GE Healthcare campus at IDA Business Park, Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork, T45 AV60. The proposed development will comprise 920 photovoltaic modules, each rated at 435 Wp, covering an approximate area of 2,315 square metres, within a total application site area of approximately 0.37 hectares, installed on a fixed East West mounting structure with a height of approximately 0.8 metres at the lower edge and 1.38 metres at the upper edge. The development will also include underground direct current and alternating current cabling, string inverters, galvanised steel support structures, earthing infrastructure and associated electrical works. The system will connect directly to the existing on site switchgear, with no requirement for a transformer cabin. All works will take place within the GE Healthcare landholding. The development will include minor civil works, trenching and reinstatement and all associated site and environmental works. A Natura Impact Statement (NIS) will be submitted to the Planning Authority in connection with the application described above. This development is covered by the provisions of the Renewable Energy Directive III Directive EU 2023/2413, and it is important to note that the planning application may be subject to section 34D of the Planning and Development Act 2000 as amended. When a notice issues in accordance with section 34D b, the provisions of article 26A of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 to 2025 shall apply.
