Proposed development

Alterations to the extension and expansion of their existing facility permitted by Cork County Council planning references 23/5968 and 23/6412 and all ancillary site development works. The proposed development includes alterations to planning reference 23/5968 comprising the omission of a permitted detention basin and replacement with Stormcell attenuation system. The proposed development also includes alterations to planning reference 23/6412 comprising: (i) The construction of a revised extension to the existing GE Healthcare building comprising a filling line, solution preparation and utilities building with an approximate maximum height of 13 metres (reduction from approximate maximum height of 27 metres). (ii) The reduction in area and reconfiguration of the permitted utilities yard/contractors compound to include a utilities building, electrical building, pump house, waste compactor building, nitrogen tank, mains water tank, piperacks to the proposed new filling line and solution preparation building and all ancillary plant and service infrastructure. The works provide for the maintenance of the existing project cabin and workshop buildings on site, with partial demolition of the workshop building. (iii) The relocation west of the existing vehicular site entrance from the north and associated realignment of the internal service road within the site. (iv) All other ancillary site development and enabling works which include rooftop PV panels, signage, revised servicing and drainage proposals, landscaping works and establishment of a temporary construction compound (area to be reinstated post construction phase) A Natura Impact Statement (NIS) has been prepared and will be submitted to the Planning Authority with the application.
