Proposed development

The development will consist of the continued use and operation of the existing quarry (permitted under P.A. Ref. 01/525), including deepening of the quarry, along with minor amendments to the permitted quarry layout comprising an extraction area of c.4 ha within an overall application area of c.11.4 ha. The development will include provision of new site infrastructure, including water management system, wheelwash and other ancillaries. The planning application is accompanied by an Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR) and a Natura Impact Statement (NIS).

Permission was granted on 12 Oct 2022. Third parties may appeal within four weeks; after that the permission is final and works can start once a commencement notice is lodged.
