Permission for 1) demolition of the existing single storey school buildings (area c.3970m2) on the site, 2) construction of an 8,982m2 part one, two ,three storey replacement 600-pupil post-primary school building and associated facilities comprising: i) 23 no. general classrooms, 6 no. specialist classrooms, 4 no. science laboratories, 3 no. technology rooms, 2no. art classrooms, 2 no. home economics classrooms, a 4 no. class base Special Education Needs unit, ii) a general purpose/dining area, multi-use PE hall, library, administration offices, staff room, pupil social areas, fitness suite and changing room facilities, iii) hard and soft landscaping to a central external courtyard, iv) an external play area/sensory garden adjacent to the Special Education Needs unit. v) installation of solar PV panels to the roof, 3) all other associated site works required to facilitate the proposed development including; i) the provision of 4 no. hard play court areas, ii) the retention of an existing grass playing pitch and the retention of an existing all-weather sports surface, iii) the relocation of the vehicular site entrance to the east of the existing vehicular entrance with provision of an air source heat pump enclosure adjacent to the new school entrance, iv) the provision of 58 no. car-parking spaces including 6 no. accessible spaces, car set-down facilities and 172 no. bicycle parking spaces, v) construction of a single storey bin store and ESB substation, and a separate LPG gas tank enclosure to the west of the school site, vi) upgraded perimeter/boundary landscaping and fences, 4) works in the public realm outside the school site to include relocation of existing on-street carparking spaces to the east along Carrignafoy Avenue and new connecting footpaths.
